FESTIVAL ORGANISER'S BIOGRAPHY

Senior All Ireland Champion and International Award Winner on numerous occasions, Patricia Daly, www.patriciadaly.co.uk holds a Masters Degree in Irish traditional Music Performance, and is a highly recognized and accomplished performer and teacher.

Amongst her many pupils and students, is her class of young harpers with the  Armagh Pipers' Club. www.armaghpipers.com  Her ever growing class reflects the increasing popularity of Patricia's teaching. Patricia is also a researcher, within the Irish traditional music circuit today.

Daly touches everyone’s soul in performance, as she renders a mystical interpretation of the ancient Celtic airs, whilst her bright sparkling lightness, in the more up-beat tunes, radiates a magnificent quality, which not only uplifts, but also inspires audiences everywhere. Free-spirited in her music, and a touch of glamour to her image, this lady’s presence radiates a natural charisma, when she walks into any performance situation.

Her repertoire links to the music of the aged itinerant travelling harpers of the 16th and 17th centuries, and she also touches on the livelier dance music of Ireland/Scotland/England/Wales/Breton, and further afield. Daly has conducted numerous workshops, and has joined fellow musicians in live performances at festivals during the past number of years, including The Summer-Song Festival, The Francis Mc Peake International Summer School (both in Ireland) and the Piping Live Festival, Glasgow. Daly's three albums have sold  extremely well at her live gigs, especially the last album, “The Rolling Wave”…

“The harp tracks are most effective and enjoyable on ‘The Rolling Wave,’ her adroitness shines for instance on Lady Dillon” …Geoff Wallis.

Patricia Daly is a regular name, tiptoeing through different programmes on both radio and television, where she portrays a vibrant enthusiasm for the Irish harp music and its history. Some of her recent appearances included Geantrai,’ TG4, ‘Musical Traditions,’ BBC 2 and Aine Hensey’s RTE..
